“A faux tilt-shift depth of field effect ... not only brings the metaphor of SimCity as an interactive model miniature railroad town to life, it also creates a sense of warmth and homeyness in a genre that often feels clinical and cold.” --1UP
“It's been a long hiatus for the legendary franchise, but with what EA had to show off, it was worth the wait. For the first time, the SimCity world really comes to life, every detail has been captured, and connected worlds allow you and your friends to collaborate on a world bigger than your own city.” --Gaming Excellence
“Maxis has used tilt-shift photography to gorgeous, almost tactile effect, and the UI, which sees players able to tab power grids, crime rates and more on and off is incredibly easy to parse. Essentially, it looks like playing with the coolest interactive Wired infographic ever.” --CVG
