What I ment was that I hope the tree didn't disappear because of the watertower pumped out the groundwater.

I believe it did, but remember this is just alpha debug mode, the trees are probably just a dev representation of land fertility at the moment, and they'll probably come up with something mroe realistic in future, like trees dying like how houses become abandoned when they run out of water.
