Here is a link to the SimCity Reddit AMA, the link is uncensored and unedited by the SimCity marketing department.
There was a link to an edited version but that has been taken down. I commented previously with a link to the actual AMA but my comments have been removed.
It is very important to note that without being constantly online you will not be able to play SimCity. This is called DRM, this version in particular is what is known as "Aggressive DRM" - the worst kind of DRM.
You would think EA would have learn't from Blizzard's experience with Diablo 3, apparently not though.
Don't support DRM. Don't buy this game. EA Maxis is censoring the community - go to the forums and read peoples opinions.

I still love to run the dmc and merge it together with the drm on the pc. No need for a backup file playback with Mcafee; he is on the run ! Instead security jump with Jason Nevins... I dinno why it's like that - It's just like that...Here is a link below to soften your drm/dmc experiences. Run drm run. Hope this helps.

I clicked the "WATCH GAMEPLAY VIDEO #3" link and it sent me to this image which really doesn't have anything to do with it, it greatly disappointed me. Guys i'm actually kinda starting to get annoyed with the lack of information we're all getting, I can understand you're busy and working super hard on making this masterpiece, and you're uploading photos and being quite active on Facebook etc. But photos don't cut it! We need to see actual gameplay! And the BETA...
Keep up the good work.
And please, please! Upload some more gameplay :c

Communist, Videos are much harder to make then a Photo, all the settings have to be fully functional and look like they will at launch as they will all be judged. Take Gameplay Strategy Video 2 for example, many of the casino dropables still had placeholder images in the menu.
So while I too would love to see more videos there will be some time inbetween them.

That and they have to keep hype up for 3 months, so it will be slow drip...

beta: now (only for PC, and only certain users [age, wifi] )
anything: every fortnight a video or screen-shot is released.

This is a link to several hundred comments posted by many people who all say they will not buy the game. It is solely because that they will require a constant Internet connection to play the game, and not all of them have this privilege. Please, Maxis, if there is anything you can do to make the constant Internet connection OPTIONAL, and allow players to play offline, please do it. A lot of sales are being lost just because of this reason. They will likely choose to pirate the game instead of buying it legitimately. This DRM won't remove piracy -- on the contrary. It will increase it. These people love the way the game looks, and will definitely buy it if it could just be played offline as well as online. Just please make it an option. Don't encourage them to pirate this great game.
